Tampa Bay Revisited

Here's another (probably the last) concept in my Revisited Series.  This time it's for a Tampa Bay Lightning concept I made in the summer of 2011.

Original Concept:  When the lightning came out with their new jerseys last year, I wasn't a fan at all.  I disliked the stolen colour scheme and the new logo.  For my original concept I gave them a navy and old gold colour scheme, and used their current shoulder patch as the primary logo.  I also used a simple striping pattern and contrasting shoulder yokes.

Revisited Concept:  To update the concept I used Blue and silver as the colour scheme, because I think those colours work better for the Lightning.  I also used their current primary logo, which has grown on me since it was first introduced.  I changed a few other things including adding stripes to the shoulder, simplifying the numbers, and adding a secondary logo.

Any thoughts?

Columbus Updated

Columbus Blue Jackets, update:  NB14 suggested I add a red outline to the numbers, and also add some  more white to the blue jersey.  I did both of those, I also changed the font to something more modern.

Thanks to NB14 for the suggestions.  I think the white trim really helps the red stand out better.

Columbus Set

A few of weeks ago I said that the Blue Jackets need a new look.  Also I had completely renamed the team for my NHL Redesign.  That being said, I actually like the Blue Jackets look right now (except for their ugly third jersey).  The only reason I think they need a new look is because the team has completely sucked their entire existence, and I think it's time for a change.  But if the team is committed to their current brand, I wouldn't be too upset.  I would want them to make a few changes though, which leads me to the concept below.

Columbus Blue Jackets:  The striping for this concept is based off of the sleeve stripes of their 2000-2007 jerseys.  I moved the stars off of the cuffs, simplified the numbers to one colour, and used their current logos.  I also used different pants for the home and road jerseys, something that has only been done three times in the NHL if I remember correctly (1970-79 LA Kings, 1976-82 Colorado Rockies, and 1974-75 Washington Capitals).

Thanks for reading, and as always you can leave any thoughts you have in the comments.

My Logo History

On Monday I posted about SG-94's future, today I thought I'd post about it's past.  And I'm sure none of you care about this, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

Logo 1, October 2011 - January 2012:  This wasn't really a logo, it was just a tag I put at the bottom of my concepts.  The font of the name was just Arial.

Logo 2, January - March 2012:  Same as logo one, except I changed the font and made the "94" the same height of the name.

Logo 3, March - April 2012:  Probably the most drastic change, as I added green, changed the shape to a hockey rink, and shortened it from my name to just "SG-94".

Logo 4, April - June 2012:  This was the logo I used when I first started this blog.  The shape changed from a rink to a puck, and the font extended outside of the circle.

Logo 5, June - July 2012:  I don't know if any noticed this when it happened, but I made a few subtle changes to the previous puck logo.  The font became wider, the bevel changed, and the black became lighter.

Logo 6, July 2012 - Present:  This is the current logo I use, and you probably already know enough about it from when I had a logo poll up.

Sorry for such a boring post, I'll post some concepts soon.
