Winnipeg Jets De-Edge

Winnipeg Jets:

This concept is inspired by the old RCAF jerseys, and also a bit by the WHA Jets jerseys.  I wanted to further the military look created by the logo, so I used stencil numbers (that's also the reason I based this off of the RCAF jerseys).  I originally had a silver road jersey, but I soon realized that wouldn't work with a city famous for "white-outs".

Hard to believe I've already done all 30 teams.  This series has really motivated me to make concepts, it seems like whenever I had nothing to do I was making concepts.  In a couple of days I will have a bonus post, and then after that I plan on doing third jersey concepts for about half the teams.

Washington Capitals De-Edge

Washington Capitals:

I really like the Capitals current modern looking jerseys, so for this concept I wanted to keep a modern feel.  I started off with the side-panels from the front of the Sharks 1998-2007 uniforms, and then built the rest of the jersey based off of that.  I used the Weagle logo as the main logo, and kept their current name and number fonts.  I also added stars to the sleeves and pants, like the Capitals had on their original uniforms.

Only one more team left.

Vancouver Canucks De-Edge

Vancouver Canucks:

For this concept I modernized the Canucks 1970-72 jerseys.  I added a silver outline on the striping to match the logos, along with a few other changes.  I know this isn't as creative as some other concepts in this series, but as a Canucks fan I find it hard to make creative concepts that I would actually want the Canucks to wear.

Toronto Maple Leafs De-Edge

I'm sure most of you have already seen this, but Icethetics is reporting that Canada may have a black third jersey.  The cool thing is that Chris asked me to do the mock-ups for the article.  If you haven't seen it yet, click the link above.

Toronto Maple Leafs:

I didn't change much for the Leafs.  The logos, name and number fonts are all the same, and the only change I made to the equipment was adding a single stripe to the pants (like what they wear with their third jersey).  The striping also looks somewhat similar but that was unintentional, it is actually inspired by their logo.  To show you what I mean I created the image below.

As you can see in the image above, the three white spaces in the striping line up with the words in their logo.  The thin blue stripes line up with the spaces between the words, and the bottom thick blue stripe lines up with the space below the words.
