Winnipeg and Winter Classic Guest Concepts

Winnipeg Jets, by Scott D:
Today's post begins with this Winnipeg Jets concept by Scott.  He suggests that the Jets ditch light blue and go with a navy blue, silver, and white colour scheme (with a tiny bit of red).  I do like the light blue on their current jerseys, but this colour scheme does make more sense with their logos.  Scott also went with a more traditional striping pattern, and a standard block font.  Overall I'd say this is a very good looking concept, but not very exciting, although not every concept needs to be exciting.

2018 Winter Classic, by Jared:
We also have another hand drawn concept by Jared.  He suggests that the Canadiens and the Leafs play each other in the 2018 Winter Classic (the NHL's 100th season).  The Canadiens jersey is based off of their 1912-13 barber-pole jersey, which they previously threw back to in 2009, but this time it has a Canadiens CH logo instead of a leaf.  The Leafs jersey is inspired by their early 1950's white jersey, but the logo is white instead of blue.  I like the idea of the Canadiens and Leafs playing an outdoor game in the NHL's 100th season, it makes a lot of sense since they're the only two franchises left from the NHL's first season.  The Montreal jersey is pretty good, I like that the number of stripes is toned down a bit from their 2009 version and I also like that the logo was changed from a leaf.  The Toronto jersey is also a good choice, but I think the leaf should be mostly blue.  Now the execution of these concepts still need improvement.  There are lots of colouring outside of lines, the sleeves are different lengths, Toronto's pants look more like skirts and their logo doesn't really look like a leaf.  The presentation of these concepts also isn't very good, we don't want to see your feet, just the concept.  To improve your concepts Jared you're going to have to put some more effort into the execution, so you don't make mistakes like colouring outside of lines.

Thanks for visiting!
